About ACES
The ACES Support Group serves the Wicomico County parents of special needs children. There are 1,788 special needs children in Wicomico County. The need for support groups is very strong. Our group has served area families for the past eight years. During that time we have provided the following services:
· Monthly Support Group with Childcare
· Education Folder with Community Resources
· IEP Assistance and Advocacy
· Funding Trainings/Conferences
· Community Awareness at Various Events
· Funding for Hippotherapy
· Lending Library
· Phone Support
Our group is open to parents, teachers, siblings, and those with developmental disabilities. ACES is available for any age group from birth to adult. We meet the THIRD Wednesday of every month.
There are many stages a parent goes through when they receive the news that their child has a disability. As parents we can join together and help those who are just starting their journey. Our support group would like to bring Autism Awareness to the community.
The more people we are able to reach the stronger we will become!
